Q: Are new members welcome?
A: YES!! Please see the update under the tab "JOIN" for more info.
Q: Do I have to be an undergraduate to get involved with the ski club?
A: Of course not - no discrimination in age or education level here (as long as you're a PSU student).
Q: I am a snowboarder. Cool if I join?
A: Yes! Contrary to popular belief, we (usually) don't hate snowboarders. If you ride, you're still welcome here! No Sleds Allowed.
Q: I am a beginner. Cool if I join?
A: For sure! We are open to all difficulty levels, from seasoned pros to first-timers. You can even rent skis and learn or take lessons while on one of our trips.
Q: What do you guys even do besides ski?
A: Ski trips don't happen year-round, but luckily we are active regardless of the weather! We have socials (for dues-paying members), as well as special events like a formal in the fall and spring, and our spring semester snow-tubing trip to Tussey Mountain. Ski Club is also super passionate about intramural sports and we enroll in multiple sports across every season. Our THON organization also actively fundraises almost year-round.
Q: When are your meetings?
A: We have one meeting at the beginning of the year which goes over all the trip details and fun things planned for the year. The 24-25 school year meeting is on September 5th at 7:30 in 105 Forum. Check our join page for access to the non-members group me where meeting times/locations will be announced as well as our instagram, @psuskiers, for the most recent updates.
Q: Where are you guys going skiing this year?
A: Check in on our trips page for updates - we plan a different assortment of trips every year!
Q: I want to go to skiing locally. Cool if I send a message to the non-member of member group me asking if anyone wants to go skiing this weekend?
A: YES! Feel free to also shoot an email to [email protected] for more organized local trips.
Q: Do you accept bank transfers, Venmo, or PayPal?
A: No, sorry. We only take checks and cold hard cash.
Q: Can I get a refund for dues or trips?
A: Unfortunately no. We do not offer refunds or even partial refunds for dues. As for trips, trip deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. The rest of your trip cost can only be refunded if we are able to find a replacement for you.
Q: How much are your trips?
A: Depends on the trip. Check out our trips page for more details.
Q: Can I meet up with someone on campus to give them money for trips?
A: Sure. We prefer you to come during our scheduled office hours, which will be posted in our GroupMe and advertised in emails. If our office hours don't fit into your schedule, contact our officers to set up an appointment for payments. Their information is located under About-Officers.
