Q: Are you accepting new members? A: Always! Please see the update under the tab JOIN for more info.
Q: I am a snowboarder. Can I join? A: Yes! Contrary to popular belief, we (usually) don't hate snowboarders. If you ride, you're welcome here!
Q: Do I have to be an undergraduate to get involved with the ski club? A: Of course not - no discrimination in age or education level here. The only requirement is that you are a PSU student.
Q: I am a beginner. Cool if I join? A: For sure! We are open to all difficulty levels. You can even rent skis and learn or take lessons while on one of our trips.
Q: What do you guys even do besides ski? A: We are active year-round! We have socials for dues-paying members, formals, and tailgates during the football season and for Blue & White. We host intramural sports teams across every season, open to all skill levels. Additionally, our THON organization fundraises almost year-round, hosting their own social events.
Q: When are your meetings? A: We have one meeting at the beginning of the year where we introduce our new board and reveal our trip details for the upcoming season. Otherwise, board members can be accessed for questions and payments during regular office hours. Check our JOIN page for access to the non-member GroupMe where the meeting time/location will be announced, as well as our Instagram @psuskiers for updates.
Q: Where are you guys going skiing this year? A: Check in on our TRIPS page for updates - we plan a different assortment of trips every year!
Q: I want to ski locally. Can the club help? A: Yes! Send a message to the member or non-member GroupMe to connect with other skiers headed to local mountains. Feel free to also send an email to [email protected] for more organized local trips.
Q: Do you accept bank transfers, Venmo, or PayPal? A: No, sorry. We only take checks and cold hard cash.
Q: Can I get a refund for dues or trips? A: Unfortunately, no. We do not offer refunds or even partial refunds for dues. As for trips, deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. The rest of your trip cost can only be refunded if we are able to find a replacement for you.
Q: How much are your trips? A: Depends on the trip. Check out our TRIPS page for more details.
Q: Can I meet with someone on campus to give them money for trips? A: Sure. We prefer you to come during our scheduled office hours, which will be posted in our GroupMe and advertised in emails. If our office hours don't fit into your schedule, contact our officers to set up an appointment for payments.
Q: Where do I get more information? A: Join our GroupMe and follow us on Instagram for updates. Reach out to President Erik Stenstrom at [email protected] with questions.
Q: My question isn’t on here - I want to know more. A: Send us an email at [email protected], or check the officers page to find the email of any specific officer.
